Walking for Health Photography

Walking for Health Milton

I am just about to come to the end of the biggest commission I have had so far.  For the last year I have been travelling all over England photographing walks organised through Walking for Health by Natural England.

The commission has taken me from little villages in Northumberland to central London with my last commission due to be at the Eden project in Cornwall.

I must confess that from a photography perspective it did get a bit repetitive. However as with other long term commissions that I have done before my photography definitely improved as I went along.   Photographing the same subject again and again means you have to keep looking for new images and angles.  Towards the end of the commissions I also bought a new ultra wide angle lends 14mm – which gives the equivalent of about 20 mm my camera. That certainly gave me a new perspective. As well as getting the sort of photos that I know the client wanted I also kept my eye out for more unusual characters on the walks and tried to get interesting photo of them.
